For the past two weeks, Toroa hub has been learning the basics of Spanish. So far we have learnt alot from using peardeck, and from our teacher (Mrs Davies). I am proud of what I have learnt.
I have learned how to count to ten in Spanish. I had already known how to, but it was good to revise. I hope to learn how to count to 100 some day!
Uno
Dos
Tres
Cuatro
Cinco
Seis
Siete

I have also learned some ways of transport (such as vehicles), this would be helpful if I were to be in Spain and needed to get somewhere.
I have also learnt the days of the week and the months of the years. We used a word search to help us remember the months better, that was fun! My favourite day is lunes (Monday) because it is quite easy to remember (luna = moon). I find each day really interesting and the meaning behind each day. A lot of the days represent planets, or important things to the Latin culture such as religion or gods.
Monday - lunes
Tuesday - martes
Wednesday - miercoles - Mid week is a easy way to remember!
Thursday - Jueves
Friday - viernes
Saturday - sabado
Sunday - domingo
An interesting fact is that the days of the weeks or months do not use capital letters at the start of the words!
I learnt basic conversation, you can see what I have learnt by looking at the blog post below!
We also learnt all the colours. This was interesting to learn because you had to understand the feminine and masculine ways of saying each colour.
Learning the feminine and masculine ways of saying words was interesting. For example, the word 'Blanco' is a masculine word. This because it ends in a O. And the word Rosa is a feminine word because it ends in a A. If the word is feminine the sentence begins in a different way to what a masculine sentence would. There is so much to talk about for it, but It is hard to explain on a blog post. I'm happy I understand.
Thanks for reading bloggers!
